Bird Sightings
Let us know when you see a rare or odd bird in the Tucson area. Take a picture and email it to [email protected]. We'll post it here with the location where it was sighted so others can enjoy it as well.
A Fox Sparrow has been visiting the Oracle Store since mid-October. We were finally able to get a decent shot of him. It's November 03, 2009 and he's still coming.
This handsome male Wood Duck was spotted on 1/30/09 at Ft. Lowell Park. Photos compliments of Mark and Farrish Sharon.
Bill Saunders of Oro Valley sent us a picture of a gorgeous migrant visitor. This Hooded Oriole was seen on June 22nd 2008.
This Black-tailed Gnatcatcher was seen in Danny Clifford's backyard (southwest, near St. Mary's Hospital) on 2/4/09.
Thanks to Kay N. of Dove Mountain who says of this Ring-necked Pheasant (which has been seen in the early days of April), "She is visiting more often now including mornings and afternoon through evening. She lets me come as close as 6 ft. to take her photo. No male has been sighted as of yet."
